Peanuts... Claremont Inn Style

These treats are a hit at every party we serve them at. It is not uncommon for guests to call us afterwards and beg for the recipe. Of course we complied and so here we are adding this simple, single step recipe to our repertoire of culinary delectables for you to enjoy.
Their working name is maple-glazed peanuts and bacon, they are addictive - that's for sure!
Ingredients
3 slices of bacon - cooked crispy and finely chopped
1 TBS fresh thyme leaves minced
1TBS kosher salt
3/4 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 lb unsalted roasted peanuts
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 cup sugar - optional
STEP 1 – Mix and Bake
Pre-heat the oven to 325 degrees.
In a medium bowl mix the dry ingredients together. Add the peanuts, maple syrup and bacon and toss until the peanuts are evenly coated.
Place the nuts on a parchment lined baking sheet and roast for about 30 minutes until the syrup has thickened on the peanuts.
Spray a sheet of foil with cooking spray and place it on the counter or another baking tray and pour the peanuts on the foil to cool, stirring frequently to break up any large clumps.
STEP 2 – Optional
when the peanuts are cooled place in a bowl and toss with granulated sugar and enjoy!
